Which housing markets boast the highest percentage of millennial homeowners? ABODO, an apartment listing company, recently analyzed 100 of the largest metros and found that these cities have the largest share of millennial homeownership.
- Ogden-Clearfield, Utah: 51%
- Grand Rapids-Wyoming, Mich.: 45.3%
- Des Moines-West Des Moines, Iowa: 43.6%
- McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, Texas: 43.3%
- Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minnesota-Wis.: 42.4%
- Scranton-Wilkes-Barre-Hazelton, Pa.: 41.9%
- Baton Rouge, La.: 41%
- Boise City, Idaho: 40.6%
- Detroit-Warren-Dearborn, Mich.: 40.2%
- St. Louis, Mo.-Ill.: 40.2%
Cities with some of the lowest percentages of millennial homeownership are Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, Calif., at 17.8%; Urban Honolulu, Hawaii at 18.3%; and San Diego-Carlsbad, Calif., at 19.8%.
